Mini, a subsidiary of the BMW Group, has significantly reduced the prices of its electric vehicle (EV) models in China to enhance its competitiveness in the market. From October 18 to November 30, customers can benefit from discounts of up to 29% on the all-electric Mini Cooper and Mini Aceman, as highlighted on Mini China’s official website.

The price adjustments apply to three variants of the electric Mini Cooper, which are now priced at RMB 148,800 ($20,930), RMB 182,800, and RMB 194,800, down from their original starting prices of RMB 209,800, RMB 239,800, and RMB 259,800, respectively. This translates to reductions of RMB 61,000 (29.08%), RMB 57,000 (23.77%), and RMB 65,000 (25.02%).

For the electric Mini Aceman, the three available variants are now priced at RMB 163,900, RMB 197,900, and RMB 209,900, reflecting original prices of RMB 229,900, RMB 259,900, and RMB 279,900. The reductions are RMB 66,000 (28.71%), RMB 62,000 (23.86%), and RMB 70,000 (25.01%), respectively. Notably, the most expensive variant of the Mini Aceman, priced at RMB 279,900, is excluded from the discount.

To further incentivize purchases, Mini is offering an option fund of RMB 8,000 and a 36-month 0% interest loan for customers buying discounted models before November 30. For those who purchase prior to October 18, Mini guarantees a cash refund for the price differences.

The electric Mini vehicles are produced at Spotlight Automotive, a joint venture between BMW and China’s Great Wall Motor, at a facility in Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu province. The electric Mini Cooper, which went on sale in China on July 6, is a four-seater with dimensions of 3,858 mm in length, 1,756 mm in width, and 1,458 mm in height, boasting a CLTC range of 452-456 kilometers. The electric Mini Aceman, available since August 27, is a five-seater with a length of 4,076 mm, width of 1,754 mm, height of 1,515 mm, and a CLTC range of 445-450 kilometers.

In China’s highly competitive EV landscape, temporary discounts frequently transition into permanent price cuts. The electric Mini models have yet to gain significant traction in the Chinese social media space, with their sales figures remaining undisclosed.
