Lynk & Co has officially unveiled its new 02 electric vehicle, marking the brand’s first entry into the European market. The model, also known as the Z20 in China, is presented as a striking five-door crossover coupe designed to capture attention with its aerodynamically optimized front end, split lighting units, and active shutter intake. The vehicle features a panoramic glass roof, a two-tone paint scheme, and is offered with either 19- or 20-inch wheels, alongside flush-mounted door handles and a prominent rear spoiler with integrated taillights.
Notably, the 02 includes a unique âHey Honkâ feature, which allows for customizable sounds to facilitate friendlier interactions with pedestrians. Lynk & Co stated, âTesting has shown that pedestrians found the system to be a preferable alternative to the typical startling horn sound.â
In terms of dimensions, the 02 measures 175.6 inches (4,460 mm) in length, 72.6 inches (1,845 mm) in width, and 61.9 inches (1,573 mm) in height, with a wheelbase of 108.5 inches (2,755 mm). This makes it comparable in length to the Toyota Corolla Cross but provides an additional 4.6 inches (117 mm) of wheelbase.
The minimalist interior features a two-tier dashboard and an oval steering wheel inspired by aircraft design. The driverâs cockpit includes a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster and a 15.4-inch infotainment system for most controls. The cabin is adorned with a combination of recycled and translucent materials, speckled accents, dual wireless chargers, and heated front seats, along with a heated steering wheel. Additionally, a âJourney Cameraâ allows users to take photos directly from the rearview mirror.
An interesting addition is the âsharing strap,â located next to the steering wheel, which connects users to a sharing app with a simple pull. For those opting not to share, the vehicle offers a front trunk (frunk) with a capacity of 0.6 cubic feet (15 liters) and a rear boot space of 14.5 cubic feet (410 liters).
The Lynk & Co 02 utilizes Geelyâs Sustainable Experience Architecture and is equipped with a 66 kWh NMC lithium-ion battery, powering a rear-mounted motor that produces 268 horsepower (200 kW / 272 PS) and 253 lb-ft (343 Nm) of torque. This configuration enables the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (0 to 100 km/h) in 5.5 seconds, with a top speed of 112 mph (180 km/h). A 150 kW DC fast charger can recharge the battery from 10% to 80% in just 30 minutes, allowing for a range of up to 277 miles (445 km) on a full charge.
Safety features are prominent, with the 02 equipped with 21 safety systems, including automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, and both front and rear cross-traffic alerts. Additional features include intelligent cruise control, auto lane change assist, blind spot detection, and traffic sign recognition.
The 02 is currently available for order, with prices starting at âŹ35,495 in Italy and âŹ35,995 in other markets, including Germany, France, and the Netherlands.
