A3 Global Introduces NuVant Systems LVc-40 for Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Battery Management

A3 Global has announced the launch of the NuVant Systems LVc-40, a tool designed for diagnosing, repairing, and reconditioning hybrid and electric vehicle (EV) batteries. The tool was unveiled at the Battery and EV Technology Show in Detroit and aims to provide precise performance metrics while extending battery life, thereby supporting sustainability initiatives.

The LVc-40 is currently available for pre-order, with shipments anticipated to begin in early 2025. The product has already received the 2024 Green GOOD DESIGN® Award, recognizing its potential to reduce environmental impact.

The LVc-40 builds on established NuVant technology developed at Northeastern University and features 40 individual channels, along with an integrated computer that runs NuVant’s Pack-Builder software. This software utilizes AI-driven algorithms to enhance battery performance.

The system is capable of providing critical diagnostic metrics, including internal resistance, watt-hour capacity, amp-hour capacity, and individual cell voltages. It is compatible with popular battery modules, such as the 18650s and 4680s, which are commonly used in Tesla vehicles and other prominent EV and hybrid models.

Michael Cardone III, CEO of A3 Global, emphasized the significance of the LVc-40, stating, “The LVc-40 is a game-changer for service shops and fleet managers looking to capitalize on the growing hybrid and EV market. This tool empowers technicians to extend battery life, reduce environmental impact, and provide a cost-effective alternative to new battery replacements, making it a critical solution for the future of vehicle electrification.”

Dr. Eugene Smotkin, Senior Vice President of Research and Development at NuVant Systems, highlighted the technological advancements, saying, “The science behind the LVc-40 allows for pinpoint accuracy in identifying faulty cells and reconditioning batteries, which not only extends battery life but also boosts overall performance.”
