In a continued effort to promote sustainability, all players of Real Madrid now drive vehicles equipped with charging capabilities, thanks to their ongoing partnership with BMW. In the third year of this collaboration, the iconic football club has received a fleet of battery-electric and plug-in hybrid cars, reflecting the team’s commitment to environmentally friendly practices.

Contrary to assumptions that superstars like Jude Bellingham, Kylian Mbappé, and Vinicius Jr. might opt for more modest vehicles like the Mini Countryman, the reality is quite the opposite. Each player enjoys a luxurious ride, with the baseline being the BMW i5.

The exception is German international Antonio Rüdiger, who drives a BMW iX2 xDrive30, valued at €58,550. Coach Carlo Ancelotti is behind the wheel of the i5 M60 xDrive, which comes with a hefty price tag of €114,450, a relatively conservative choice for a coach of his stature.

Young Turkish talent Arda Güler receives the i7 xDrive 60, priced at €139,550, while Vinícius Júnior takes luxury a step further with the i7 M70 xDrive, equipped with premium tuning features costing €186,650. In comparison, Bellingham and Mbappé have chosen the plug-in hybrid BMW XM, valued at €179,900.

While these plug-in hybrids offer eco-friendly benefits, a common challenge remains: drivers often forget to charge them. This oversight can negate the advantages of their CO2 balance, effectively transforming them into gasoline vehicles powered by a powerful V8 combustion engine. However, when utilized correctly, the electric motor provides a robust output of 145 kW and an electric range of approximately 80 kilometers, ensuring that these elite athletes can enjoy the performance and luxury of their vehicles while contributing to a greener future.
