Tesla has officially launched deliveries of its highly anticipated Cybertruck in Mexico, marking the first time the all-electric pickup has been handed over to customers outside the United States.

The company celebrated the milestone with a special event late Monday night, where the first ten Cybertrucks were delivered to a select group of buyers, reportedly early investors and close associates of the company.

The event in Mexico follows Tesla’s initial rollout of the Cybertruck in the U.S. earlier this year and comes as the automaker prepares to expand deliveries to Canada in the coming weeks.

A Tesla employee confirmed that Canadian deliveries are expected to begin soon, as the company continues its strategic launch of the vehicle in key markets.

Tesla’s delivery event in Mexico mirrors the limited-release style seen in the U.S. in 2023, where only a small number of vehicles were delivered at first. While Cybertrucks have already been spotted in various parts of the world, Mexico is only the second country to receive official deliveries.

Meanwhile, plans for Tesla’s Gigafactory in Mexico remain uncertain. CEO Elon Musk has indicated that the timeline for the project may depend on the outcome of the U.S. Presidential Election, leaving the future of the factory in limbo for now.
