Home Hardware has started operating two Volvo VNR Electric semi trucks from its St. Jacobs, Ontario depot as part of its initiative to transition to a zero-emission fleet. The trucks will be used for last-mile deliveries in the Greater Toronto Area.

The Volvo VNR trucks have an operating range of 442 kilometers (approximately 275 miles) and will service routes extending from Home-brand stores within a 100-150 kilometer (about 90 miles) radius of the distribution center.

Kevin Macnab, president and CEO of Home Hardware Stores Ltd., highlighted the company’s commitment to modern logistics and supply chain improvements. Home Hardware has received recognition for its safety and employer standards from the Private Motor Truck Council and Trucking HR Canada.

The new Volvo VNR Electric trucks were introduced during the company’s 60th anniversary celebration and annual franchise event, the Home Hardware Homecoming, held recently in Toronto, Ontario.
