ZF has secured orders for electric drivetrains from two international commercial vehicle manufacturers, Ford Trucks and Farizon. Ford Trucks, part of the Turkish joint venture Ford Otosan, will utilize ZF’s CeTrax 2 dual electric central drive for its new battery-electric F-LINE series truck.

This model features two hairpin electric motors providing continuous power of 380 kW and a peak torque of 24,700 Nm. Additionally, ZF will supply an electrically powered hydraulic steering pump as part of a long-term supply agreement aimed at enhancing the efficiency of the vehicle’s hydraulic systems.

According to Peter Laier, a member of ZF’s Board of Management, “With Ford Trucks, we have gained a major international customer for our new e-mobility drive platform. This underlines our leading position in Europe for electric commercial drives.”

In parallel, ZF has also partnered with Chinese commercial vehicle manufacturer Farizon, a member of the Geely Group. Farizon aims to expand its presence in Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa, planning to launch its SuperVAN electric van in select European markets by 2024 and 2025.

Mike Fan, CEO of Farizon Auto, emphasized the significance of the collaboration, stating, “Sustainable development has become a global consensus. ZF and Farizon are leaders in their respective fields, and their comprehensive strategic cooperation will provide cleaner, more economical and more efficient solutions for commercial vehicle users in China and around the world.”
