Polestar announced the introduction of a Long Range Single Motor variant to its Polestar 3 line-up, expanding options for consumers eager to embrace electric SUVs. Priced starting at €79,890 including handover fees, the Polestar 3 Long Range Single Motor will be available for order in Europe today, with plans to roll out in North America and Australia later in 2024.
Thomas Ingenlath, CEO of Polestar, emphasized the strategic significance of the new model, stating, “With the Long Range Single Motor Polestar 3, we offer consumers a new entry-point for our flagship electric SUV. The rear-wheel drive configuration aligns with our performance-focused driving dynamics, distinguishing the car in the luxury SUV sector.”

The Long Range Single Motor variant, manufactured in China and the USA, shares the same 111 kWh battery pack as its Dual Motor counterpart. It boasts a peak charging capability of 250 kW, enabling a rapid 10-80% charge in just 30 minutes on DC. Efficiency seekers will appreciate its WLTP-certified range of up to 650 km between charges.
Retaining the hallmark performance attributes of its Dual Motor counterparts, the Long Range Single Motor Polestar 3 incorporates advanced ride comfort and control features such as Hydraulic Rebound Stops (HRS) and Frequency Selective Damping (FSD). This ensures a dynamic driving experience akin to higher-end models.

Powering the rear axle, the motor delivers 220 kW and 490 Nm of torque, propelling the Long Range Single Motor Polestar 3 from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.8 seconds. Safety and performance are further enhanced by the adoption of the same Brembo braking system found across the Polestar 3 range.
As part of the MY25 line-up, the Long Range Single Motor Polestar 3 offers enhanced customization options, with a simplified choice of exterior colors, interior trims, and wheel designs. Additionally, the introduction of the Pro Pack includes new 21-inch alloy wheels among its offerings.

Customers opting for the Long Range Single Motor variant can also select the Pilot Pack featuring LiDAR technology from Luminar, enhancing safety and convenience features available on the Polestar 3.
