Rocky Mountain Power, an electricity provider, has teamed up with Electrify Commercial, a business unit of Electrify America, to install its first fast-charging locations in Utah. The collaboration aims to add 20 new charging hubs in the Salt Lake area.
The new charging stations, located in Millcreek and Vernal in Salt Lake County, offer up to 350 kW and are part of the Electrify America network. Despite being part of this network, the stations are owned by Rocky Mountain Power, which handles pricing.
In May 2023, the partners announced their plans to establish 20 new charging locations with 80 individual chargers in and around Salt Lake City. This initiative includes 15 locations in the Salt Lake City area and five sites in surrounding regions.
Electrify America is known for operating a public fast-charging network in the US and also offers turnkey charging solutions for third parties like Rocky Mountain Power. These arrangements are facilitated through Electrify Commercial, which provides services such as charging equipment, installation, networking, and ongoing operations and maintenance.

The company has since built the largest open, DC-fast charging network in the United States, opening its first charging station in May 2018 and adding over 3,500 charging points at 800 locations. The goal is to have 10,000 charging stations at 1,800 locations across North America by 2026.
