ChargePoint has unveiled a series of updates and expansions to its be.ENERGISED platform in Europe, alongside new software in North America that will be compatible with third-party manufacturers’ hardware.

The charging infrastructure specialist acquired has-to-be three years ago, which included the backend be.ENERGISED. Since then, ChargePoint claims to have continually improved and developed the product. be.ENERGISED can now reportedly manage over 900 charging station models from more than 100 manufacturers.

According to ChargePoint, the be.ENERGISED platform offers consolidated services for Charge Point Operators (CPOs) and eMobility Service Providers (eMSPs), including VAT handling and automated invoicing, streamlining financial operations for multinational charging providers. The software is described as an end-to-end solution that can handle every aspect of the charging process and is designed to offer the necessary flexibility and modularity for all use cases.

The company has now announced new features, offers, and enhancements to its platform. These include a new payment terminal that supports the new “OCPI v2.2.1 Direct Payment Module” standards and is compliant with the AFIR regulation that came into force in April. eMSPs can also provide their customers with access to over 750,000 charging stations in Europe via the roaming network, while CPOs can make their charging stations accessible to the public with a few clicks through roaming agreements with the “be.ENERGISED Community.” Additionally, the CP6000 AC charging solution is now available on the be.ENERGISED platform for selected customers, although no further details were provided.

“A new set of market demands necessitates even the most advanced charger management platforms to deliver innovative features for the future,” said Andreas Blin, Director for Service Provision at ChargePoint. “A leader in the market for more than a decade, be.ENERGISED meets the challenges charging businesses face, ensuring that both new and existing infrastructure can excel in an ever more dynamic environment.”

ChargePoint invites interested parties to learn more about its platform at stand B6.111 in hall B6 at this year’s Power2Drive event, taking place in Munich from June 19 to 21, 2024.

Furthermore, ChargePoint has announced plans to expand its software offering in North America to include the management of hardware from other manufacturers, starting with chargers made by LG. This move will allow customers to operate their choice of LG hardware with ChargePoint’s software.

“ChargePoint remains focused on delivering integrated, networked charging solutions that enable a seamless charging experience for drivers and site hosts,” said Rich Mohr, Senior Vice President of the Americas at ChargePoint. “By partnering with additional charging hardware manufacturers, we are enabling more customers to use the ChargePoint software platform to power their EV charging programs, delivering a world-class driver experience.”
