VinFast announced a collaboration with Bosch to provide its customers access to a network of 700,000 charging points in 30 European countries. This partnership builds on their existing relationship in North America, where VinFast and Bosch have worked together on charging infrastructure for two years.

Expanding on their U.S. partnership, VinFast and Bosch aim to enhance charging infrastructure in Europe. This move will allow VinFast customers to “travel across the continent with easy access to a large network of compatible charging stations,” according to a company press release.

VinFast has been preparing for the European launch of its electric vehicles for some time. Recently, the company appointed Mobivia, a workshop and accessories specialist, as its service partner for Germany and France to build trust in the new brand.

The collaboration with Bosch will enable VinFast drivers to locate charging stations, initiate the charging process, and pay through the company’s app or directly via the vehicle’s infotainment system. Additionally, customers will benefit from “a more comprehensive customer support system from both VinFast and Bosch.”

Le Thi Thu Trang, CEO of VinFast Europe, stated, “We continue to prioritize our customers’ needs, and this collaboration aligns perfectly with that philosophy.” Martin Knoss, Vice President Bosch ASEAN, added, “The majority of electric vehicle drivers rely on public charging infrastructure. Recognizing this need, Bosch has continuously expanded its global network, increasing it by sixfold since 2020. This partnership enables us to accommodate VinFast customers throughout Europe, where we anticipate having a total of 850,000 charging ports by the end of 2024, while also supporting their global expansion endeavors.”

VinFast has delayed its European deliveries several times, most recently targeting the fourth quarter of 2023. The company officially began exporting its EVs at the end of 2022, with an initial batch of 999 VF 8s shipped to the USA. VinFast’s expansion to Europe is part of a broader global growth strategy, including new factories in the United States, India, and Indonesia.
