Jaguar driver Nick Cassidy emerged victorious in the first race of the Berlin E-Prix, showcasing a stunning performance that saw him climb from ninth on the grid to claim the top spot. Cassidy’s remarkable comeback included setting the fastest race lap in his Jaguar, securing a crucial win for the team.
In a post-race interview, Cassidy expressed his elation, stating, “It was a challenging race, but I kept pushing and managed to make some bold moves to get back into contention.”
Behind Cassidy, Jean-Eric Vergne from DS Penske secured second place, with Oliver Rowland from Nissan rounding out the top three. The race, the ninth of the current season, featured intense competition and strategic driving, with Cassidy’s victory proving pivotal for Jaguar in the team standings.
The following day, Porsche driver Antonio Felix da Costa delivered a stellar performance to claim victory in the second Berlin round, marking his first triumph on home soil in Formula E. Da Costa’s win came after a fierce battle with Cassidy, who finished a close second, and Rowland, who secured third place.
Reflecting on his win, da Costa remarked, “It was an incredible race, and I’m thrilled to have secured victory for Porsche in front of our home crowd.”
With his back-to-back podium finishes in Berlin, Cassidy now leads the drivers’ standings with 140 points, followed by Pascal Wehrlein from Porsche with 124 points and Oliver Rowland from Nissan with 118 points. In the team standings, Jaguar has further solidified its lead over Porsche, extending their advantage to 237 points.
