GPT, or Generative Pre-trained Transformer, is a technology that predicts the probability of the next word appearing, allowing for the generation of words based on a probability distribution with each call.
As interest in AI technologies like ChatGPT grows globally, several Chinese tech giants have made significant strides in the field. Nio, for instance, applied for trademarks related to GPT in May 2023, including NOMI GPT and Knowme GPT.
Nio introduced NOMI in 2017 alongside the launch of its first production vehicle, the ES8, deriving the acronym from the English phrase “Know Me.” NOMI allows Nio vehicle owners to perform tasks such as playing music, navigating, making phone calls, taking photos, and locating battery swap stations through voice commands.
