Fisker’s launch of its electric Ocean SUV has been marked by a series of setbacks, hindering the timely delivery of vehicles to eager customers. Marques Brownlee, popularly known as MKBHD, recently added to the company’s challenges with a scathing review, dubbing the Fisker Ocean as the “worst car he’s ever reviewed.”
In a detailed video shared on his Auto Focus channel, Brownlee didn’t hold back, describing the Ocean as quirky yet deeply disappointing. He criticized several design decisions, going so far as to say he wouldn’t even accept the car as a gift. “This might be the single weirdest automotive reviewing experience I’ve ever had,” Brownlee lamented.

Brownlee’s team faced hurdles even before taking delivery of the car, eventually sourcing it from a Mitsubishi dealership due to Fisker’s delays. Adding to the drama, Fisker tried to halt the review, insisting that Brownlee wait for an upcoming software update 2.0.
Despite finding a few positives, such as the exterior design and seat comfort, Brownlee highlighted numerous flaws, particularly the incomplete software. He pointed out that the solar panel roof tiles’ impact on range isn’t displayed in the user interface. Additionally, he criticized the center console’s design, including a large, space-consuming fold-out tray and the absence of a traditional glove box.
In conclusion, Brownlee attributed many of the Fisker Ocean’s issues to the company’s inexperience, suggesting that it’s still finding its footing in the competitive EV market. His review offers a comprehensive examination of the car’s shortcomings, providing valuable feedback for Fisker’s future endeavors.
