According to internal documents reviewed by TechCrunch, over 100 instances of power loss have been reported by Fisker Ocean owners. While the company asserts that these occurrences are rare and largely resolved through software updates, additional problems such as sudden loss of braking power, key fob-related locking incidents, and hood displacement at high speeds have been documented in nearly 200 reports.

From TechCrunch:

In the months since, Fisker Ocean SUV customers have reported more than 100 separate loss-of-power incidents, the internal documents show. The company told TechCrunch it believes these problems are rare, and that it has resolved “almost all the issues” with software updates.

Problems with the Ocean SUV, however, are not limited to the vehicle suddenly losing power, a review of nearly 200 documents shows. Customers have also reported sudden loss of braking power, problematic key fobs causing them to get locked inside or outside of the vehicle, seat sensors that don’t detect the driver’s presence and the SUV’s front hood suddenly flying up at high speeds.

In interviews with affected owners, TechCrunch details the challenges and frustrations experienced firsthand, underscoring the significant scope of the reported faults.

The emergence of these issues post-production rollout suggests that while Fisker successfully brought the Ocean to market, there are lingering concerns regarding the vehicle’s performance and reliability. Owners affected by these technical difficulties can only hope for swift resolution from the manufacturer.
