Vietnamese automaker VinFast has taken a significant stride in its U.S. market presence by establishing a group of dealers for its electric vehicles. The initial group includes Leith VinFast in North Carolina, Smith Haven VinFast in New York, Principle VinFast Grapevine, and Hiley VinFast of Fort Worth in Texas, along with VinFast Wichita in Kansas. The dealerships will initially offer the VinFast VF 8 model, with plans to include the VF 6, VF 7, and VF 9 models upon their U.S. launch.

VinFast is preparing to serve the U.S. market with the construction of an electric vehicle factory, scheduled for production launch in 2025. Originally planned for the summer of 2024, the production start date was postponed. VinFast also entered into an IPO agreement with Black Spade Acquisition in May. The decision to build a dealership network in the U.S. was reinforced after the initial release of VF 8 units faced delays, leading to a less-than-optimal market launch.

Deputy CEO of Sales and Marketing at VinFast, Ms. Tran Mai Hoa, emphasized the company’s commitment to expanding its retail sales network and expediting product delivery to the market. Hoa stated, “Collaboration with dealers allows VinFast to quickly bring U.S. customers high-quality electric vehicles, good prices, and excellent after-sales policies, further promoting our mission of a sustainable future for all.”

Having established a strong presence in Vietnam, VinFast is strategically expanding globally, with recent announcements of plans for a factory in India and earlier initiatives to manufacture in Indonesia.
