According to the US Department of Energy, there are 13 gigafactories of new battery cells that will be operational in the US by 2025.

This electric battery factory will usher in a new era of battery production in the US. So far, most of the battery cells for electric vehicles have come from Asia – especially China, Japan and South Korea.

The only electric battery manufacturers in the US are Tesla and Panasonic’s Nevada Gigafactory, which supply battery cells for the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y.

With more electric vehicle brands coming to the US, it is important that battery cell production also comes to the US.

The presence of these factories is important to the electric car ecosystem and brings many good manufacturing jobs to the US, directly and indirectly.
