In the vibrant landscape of EICMA 2023, Hero MotoCorp has unveiled its latest electric two-wheeler, the Vida V1 Coupe, under its dedicated electric mobility brand, Vida. This stylish addition to the global electric commuter market follows the success of the V1, designed for the Indian market.
Unlike conventional two-wheelers, Hero’s V1 Coupe takes inspiration from the automotive world by adopting the term “Coupe.” While typically associated with two-door cars, this electric scooter offers a unique twist with a single saddle, providing a sportier and streamlined appearance. The innovative design allows for the option of transforming back into a dual-seater, adding practicality for carrying passengers or luggage.
On the technological front, the Vida V1 Coupe boasts premium features, including cruise control, keyless ignition, and a seven-inch full-color TFT display. The scooter introduces a Boost Mode, offering additional thrust for quick maneuvers and overtakes, accelerating from zero to 40 kilometers per hour (25 miles per hour) in just 3.2 seconds. However, with a top speed of 80 kilometers per hour (50 miles per hour), it positions itself as a dedicated in-city machine.
To enhance user experience, the Vida V1 Coupe offers four ride modes—Eco, Ride, Sport, and a customizable mode—allowing riders to tailor throttle response and optimize battery performance. Hero anticipates the scooter’s availability in India by 2024, with an estimated retail price slightly higher than the V1 Pro’s Rs 125,000, approximately $1,512 USD.
