Volkswagen Launches Pre-Sales of Powerful Touareg R eHybrid in Germany

Germany’s leading automobile manufacturer, Volkswagen (VW), has officially commenced the pre-sales phase for its highly anticipated new model, the Touareg R eHybrid. Boasting cutting-edge hybrid technology, this luxury SUV represents a significant milestone for VW, claiming the title of the most powerful drive system ever seen in the company’s series models. With a starting price of €93,870 in Germany, the Touareg R eHybrid aims to captivate the market with its exceptional performance and advanced features.

The latest iteration of the Touareg R eHybrid sets itself apart with both visual enhancements and technical upgrades. Positioned as the flagship model within the luxury class series, it arrives as a plug-in hybrid, presenting an impressive system output of 340 kW (equivalent to 462 hp). VW enthusiasts can expect a thrilling driving experience, coupled with a host of state-of-the-art functionalities.

Under the hood, the Touareg R eHybrid houses a 3.0-liter, six-cylinder turbocharged engine, skillfully combined with an electric drive system. This powerful duo allows the vehicle to generate up to 700 Nm of torque, propelling it from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.1 seconds. Drivers will relish the opportunity to reach exhilarating top speeds of up to 250 km/h, solidifying the Touareg R eHybrid as an exceptional performer in its class.

No other model offers as much performance, travel comfort, driving dynamics, and customized equipment as this model.” In addition to its outstanding on-road capabilities, the Touareg R eHybrid also impresses with its off-road prowess. With a towing capacity of 3.5 tonnes, it establishes itself as the ultimate vehicle for tackling demanding tasks, offering a seamless blend of power and versatility.

It is worth noting that VW previously released hybrid versions of the Touareg in 2020. These earlier models delivered system outputs of 280 kW and 340 kW. The 280 kW Touareg R had a starting price of €72,378, while the 340 kW variant began at €84,660 in Germany. With the launch of the new Touareg R eHybrid, VW takes a significant step forward, pushing the boundaries of power and performance in the hybrid SUV segment.
