The highly anticipated 2023 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area International Auto Show, also known as Auto Shenzhen 2023, is set to kick off this Friday in the vibrant city of Shenzhen, China. The event will feature prominent automakers, including Tesla and emerging Chinese manufacturer NIO, who will be showcasing their latest innovations and technologies.
Organized by the show’s coordinators, it has been confirmed that Tesla will be one of the main exhibitors at Auto Shenzhen 2023, marking its first participation in a Chinese auto show since the Shanghai Auto Show in April 2021. The company’s absence from subsequent auto shows in China, including the 2023 Shanghai Auto Show, had been notable following a brake failure dispute involving a female owner at the Shanghai event. However, Tesla is now making a triumphant return to the Chinese auto show scene.
Tesla’s booth, located in Hall 9 on the 1st floor of the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center, will provide visitors with an up-close look at their cutting-edge electric vehicle lineup. Notably, Tesla’s booth will be adjacent to XPeng’s booth, another Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer that has gained considerable attention in recent years. Visitors to Hall 9 can also explore the exhibits of other prominent brands such as AITO, Smart, Leapmotor, Rising Auto, and Voyah, all contributing to the diverse automotive landscape on display.
NIO, a rising star in the Chinese electric vehicle market, will also have a significant presence at the show. NIO’s booth in Hall 3, situated close to Bentley and Lotus, will captivate attendees with their remarkable offerings. As part of their showcase, NIO will unveil the highly anticipated ET5 Touring model, both in China and in Europe. NIO’s press conference, scheduled for June 16 from 10:00 to 10:30, is expected to generate excitement and reveal further details about their latest offerings.
Preceding the Auto Shenzhen event, NIO will launch the ET5 Touring in China on June 15, commencing with a launch event at 19:00 Beijing time. Shortly thereafter, the new ES6 model will also be unveiled in Europe. Auto Shenzhen 2023 will commence with a media day on June 16, while general admission will be open to the public from June 17 to June 24.
