NIO is preparing for the launch of its highly anticipated model, the ET5 Touring. The company recently announced that deliveries of the ET5 Touring will commence this month, and speculation suggests that the unveiling event will take place on June 15.
A glimpse into the launch can be seen on the front page of NIO’s English-language website. The prominent image showcases an intricate detail of the model’s interior, accompanied by the text “Inspired By Life. Witness the launch of our next chapter.” While the specific model is not explicitly mentioned, the absence of a heads-up display (HUD) in the image indicates that it could be the ET5 Touring. Currently, the ET5 is the only model in NIO’s product lineup that does not support HUD.
The ET5 Touring, built on the NT 2.0 platform, is an intelligently designed midsize electric wagon. NIO’s announcement on June 1 highlighted its plans to commence deliveries to customers in June. The launch will have a global reach, with initial deliveries taking place in the Chinese market, as outlined in a separate press release.
On June 2, influential car blogger Wu Ying, boasting approximately 1 million Weibo followers, stated that NIO would unveil the ET5 Touring on June 15. While NIO has not officially confirmed this information, one of its energy service Weibo accounts showed support by liking the post made by Wu Ying.
Furthermore, additional images of the ET5 Touring have been circulating widely on Weibo, shared by reputable car bloggers such as De Lu and Dong Maimai.
According to the analysis conducted by Deutsche Bank analyst Edison Yu’s team, the pricing for the ET5 Touring is expected to range between RMB 335,000 ($47,090) and RMB 345,000. This puts it slightly higher than the regular ET5, which is priced at RMB 328,000.
As the launch date approaches, EV enthusiasts and industry observers eagerly anticipate the unveiling of NIO’s ET5 Touring, which promises to deliver an exceptional driving experience and further establish NIO’s presence in the electric vehicle market.
