Fisker has announced that its all-electric model, the Fisker Ocean Extreme, boasts an impressive estimated total range of 360 miles, according to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). This figure exceeds the company’s initial estimates and positions the Fisker Ocean Extreme as the electric SUV with the longest range available in the United States market for under $200,000.
The EPA certification further solidifies the Fisker Ocean Extreme’s standing as a leader in the electric SUV segment. The vehicle, including the limited edition Fisker Ocean One, offers the longest range among all electric SUVs currently sold in the US under the aforementioned price threshold.
The Fisker Ocean Extreme also recently obtained the European Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP) certification, validating its exceptional range of 707 kilometers (440 miles) on standard 20-inch wheels and tires. This achievement makes it the electric SUV with the longest range available in Europe at present.
Furthermore, the Fisker Ocean Extreme has received both an EPA Certificate of Conformity and a California Air Resources Board (CARB) Executive Order (EO), enabling its sale and delivery in all 50 US states as well as the District of Columbia.
Henrik Fisker, the CEO of Fisker, expressed his satisfaction with the achievement, stating, “A lot of hard work went into achieving these results, and it feels great to give our customers a better range than we had estimated.” He emphasized that the Fisker Ocean Extreme offers a remarkable driving experience and provides drivers with the confidence of owning the electric SUV with the longest range in its price range.
Fisker’s CARB Executive Order also grants the Fisker Ocean Extreme the maximum 4.0 Zero-Emission Vehicle credits per vehicle sold. The model has successfully completed all the necessary Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) testing required for self-certification by the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and meets the New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) standards for a 5-star rating. Additionally, it has received certification for sale in Europe from European authorities.
Even when equipped with optional 22-inch wheels and tires, the Fisker Ocean Extreme still achieved an impressive WLTP range of 701 kilometers (436 miles). This result demonstrates that the performance wheels and tires have minimal impact on the overall range of the Fisker Ocean.
While the first customer in Denmark received delivery of the Fisker Ocean on May 5, deliveries in the United States are expected to commence in June, marking an exciting milestone for the company.
The Fisker Ocean Extreme incorporates a 113kWh Hyper Range battery pack, optimized engineering, and aerodynamic design in its pursuit of becoming the most sustainable SUV on the market. The vehicle’s estimated range allows for extended trips, such as driving from Philadelphia to Boston or Los Angeles to San Jose, enhancing its appeal to environmentally conscious consumers.
The Fisker Ocean all-electric SUV, available in three versions (Extreme, Ultra, and Sport), combines innovation, affordability, and sustainability. The model has received significant interest, with certain trims already sold out in several launch markets. Additionally, the Fisker Ocean recently received recognition for its exceptional design, winning the 2023 Red Dot Product Design Award for Best Electric Vehicle.
