Polestar has announced the opening of a new retail location in Costa Mesa, California, known as Polestar South Coast. This latest addition to Polestar’s network of retail locations aims to expand the brand’s footprint in Southern California, and give Orange County residents a hands-on experience with Polestar’s electric performance cars and SUVs.
Garth Blumenthal, Principal of Polestar South Coast, expressed excitement at bringing Polestar’s mission to Orange County: “Polestar’s mission to use design and technology to accelerate the change to sustainable, electric mobility will resonate with our customers.” This sentiment aligns with Polestar’s larger goal of creating a sustainable future through electric mobility.
According to Gregor Hembrough, Head of Polestar North America, Polestar South Coast is helping build towards a future where 100% of new passenger vehicles sold in California will be zero-emissions by 2035. Hembrough said, “Polestar South Coast is building for that future and giving Orange County residents two wonderful reasons to go electric: the Polestar 2 and Polestar 3.”
Polestar South Coast offers a unique retail experience for visitors. Customers can test drive the Polestar 2 fastback, which boasts a NHTSA 5-star safety rating and features Google’s native infotainment system. Additionally, shoppers can experience the new Polestar 3 in augmented reality, which debuts a revolutionary new LiDAR driver assistance system and a Dolby Atmos sound system. The Polestar 3 will be available for delivery later this year.
California has seen a 138% increase in EV sales over the past two years, according to the California Energy Commission. Polestar South Coast is part of the brand’s continued retail expansion, with a goal of having Polestar Spaces in all major EV markets across North America.
