Volkswagen Nears Completion of ID.7 Testing Ahead of Global Premiere

Volkswagen is set to make a big splash in the electric vehicle market with the upcoming world premiere of their flagship electric sedan, the ID.7. The unveiling is set for April 17th, and the company is putting the final touches on the vehicle as it prepares for its release in China, Europe, and the US.

One of the standout features of the ID.7 is its impressive driving range. The car comes equipped with a newly developed powertrain that is much more efficient than the current units available for all vehicles sharing the MEB platform. The car boasts a WLTP range of up to 700km with a new, 86kWh battery and 611km with the well-known 77kWh unit. This improvement in range is a major selling point for the ID.7 and could make it a top contender in the long-distance electric car market.

Volkswagen has also put significant effort into developing the car’s running gear, resulting in a much smoother driving experience and precise steering. There is even an optional chassis control system that can further enhance comfort or improve handling for a more sporty ride.

The interior of the ID.7 has also been given a revamp, with a cleaner and more spacious layout. The center console is dominated by a 15-inch screen, while the instrument cluster has been shrunk down to a small display behind the steering wheel that blends in nicely with the dashboard. The car also features a new heads-up display (HUD) that projects important information onto the windshield in full color and high definition.

The seats in the ID.7 have also been completely redesigned, with adaptive cooling, heating, and massage functions. The seats can be adjusted in up to 14 different ways, and the Auto mode will automatically adjust the temperature to provide optimal comfort for the driver and front passenger.

The ID.7 marks a significant step for Volkswagen as they aim to make 80% of their portfolio electric cars by 2030. The car is especially important in China, where new emissions regulations mean that VW can only sell electric cars. With the majority of their ICE-powered Chinese models no longer qualifying for sales permits, the ID.7 comes at a crucial time for the company.

Overall, the ID.7 is an exciting addition to Volkswagen’s electric vehicle lineup. With its impressive driving range, improved running gear, and luxurious interior, it could be a game-changer in the long-distance electric car market. We can’t wait to learn more about the ID.7 when it is unveiled on April 17th.
