NIO Partners with Tibber to Enhance Charging Experience for European EV Owners

Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker NIO has partnered with Norwegian smart energy provider Tibber to enhance the charging experience of NIO customers in Europe. The partnership will enable NIO customers in Norway, Germany, Sweden, and the Netherlands to connect their vehicles to Tibber’s app through a dynamic power contract. Tibber offers a range of services, including real-time energy prices, energy use tracking, and the ability to control the charging of EVs during hours when electricity prices are at their lowest.

The Tibber App’s Smart Charging feature can be used with any wallbox, including NIO’s Power Home 3.0. According to the article published in the European version of the NIO App, “Once you set up the ‘Smart Charging’ feature within the Tibber App, your NIO will be charged fully automatically exactly in the hours when the electricity is cheapest.” This will enable NIO customers to save money and reduce their carbon footprint.

NIO’s partnership with Tibber is the latest in a series of European partnerships aimed at improving EV energy replenishment. In December 2022, NIO announced a partnership with Germany’s largest fast-charging network operator, EnBW, to build up to 20 battery swap stations at its charging parks.

Founded in 2016, Tibber uses technology to help customers save energy and money. The partnership with NIO will enable Tibber to expand its reach and provide more services to its customers.

As NIO expands its presence in Europe, partnerships with companies like Tibber and EnBW will be crucial in ensuring that EV customers have access to fast, reliable, and cost-effective charging solutions. These partnerships will also help reduce range anxiety and increase the adoption of EVs, which is crucial for combating climate change.
