Chinese electric vehicle maker Zeekr has set its sights on expanding into Europe by the end of 2023, with plans to launch in the US in 2024. The brand, which has gained recognition in China for its dramatic designs, will also introduce five new models by 2025 to help it grow its appeal in these new markets. Zeekr CEO An Conghui commented on the company’s plans, stating, “Zeekr is a well-established product in China but will expand rapidly in international markets, which is our original goal.”

One of the new models in the works is a compact sedan, currently known as the CS1E. The car is expected to be a competitor to Tesla’s popular Model 3, and with Zeekr’s reputation for eye-catching designs, it is expected to have an edgy look.

Zeekr’s growth plans include reaching annual sales of 650,000 vehicles once its EV family grows to eight models. This is a significant goal for a carmaker that sold just 71,941 vehicles in 2022, all of which were the 001 Shooting Brake model. However, Zeekr believes it is achievable with its recent launch of the 009 MPV and the X compact SUV, which it expects to double its sales this year.

In a statement, An said, “By 2025, we will have eight models to achieve 650,000 units. We believe this is achievable.”

Zeekr’s expansion into new markets is part of its broader strategy to become a leading player in the global EV market. Its unique designs and commitment to producing high-quality EVs make it a strong contender in the industry. As An remarked, “Our goal is to become a global brand and achieve sustainable development in the EV market.”
