IBU-Tec Advanced Materials AG has recently established a new subsidiary, IBUvolt Battery Materials GmbH, in response to the growing significance of battery materials. The new company will concentrate on producing, developing, and selling battery materials, with a particular focus on cathode and anode active materials. Ulrich Weitz, the CEO of IBU-Tec, has been appointed as the managing director of IBUvolt Materials. Weitz will be assigned to the supervisory board of IBU-Tec at the annual general meeting on April 26th.
The establishment of the new company is designed to support IBU-Tec’s rapid growth in the battery business. With Weitz leading the development of IBUvolt, the company hopes to benefit from his vast experience and extensive network. With Jörg Leinenbach assuming the role of sole CEO of IBU-Tec, the company believes that they can structurally support their growth in the battery materials business.
Weitz has expressed his excitement about his new position, stating that the IBUvolt team will be able to concentrate fully on the development of battery materials and respond quickly to new market demands. He aims to leverage his expertise to expand IBU-tec’s position in this strategically vital field and open up new markets and applications.
Prior to its establishment as a separate company, IBUvolt was a brand name under which IBU-Tec Advanced Materials offered its cathode materials, including LFP battery materials. IBU-Tec is already collaborating with international clients to develop bespoke mixtures that cater to different requirements.
The company’s customer base includes leading names in the industry such as Blackstone Technology and the Norwegian battery producer Morrow Batteries. Overall, the creation of IBUvolt Battery Materials GmbH demonstrates IBU-Tec’s dedication to investing in the battery materials business and capitalizing on the expanding opportunities in this area.
