Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) is gearing up to introduce electric machines in Singapore, with the launch of its new online portal for Singaporean companies to register their interest. The first machines to arrive in Singapore will be the ECR25 Electric compact excavator and the L25 Electric compact wheel loader, set to debut in the next quarter.
According to AM Muralidharan, Head of Productivity & Retail Development Asia, the company has been discussing the arrival of electric machines in Singapore for several months and anticipates strong interest. Singapore is renowned for its commitment to sustainability, with customers already expressing interest in the machines after seeing them used on projects in the US and Europe.

To structure the introduction and create more personalised customer experiences, Volvo CE has created the new online portal for registration. Construction contractors, utility companies, industrial businesses, energy companies and others are being called to register their interest, and invited to a live walkthrough to see the technology up close.
“We are phasing out the use of diesel engines in our compact machines over the course of this decade so the upcoming release of these electric machines in Singapore is an important milestone,” continued AM Muralidharan.
Volvo CE has committed to achieving carbon neutrality by 2040, and has set a target for electric vehicles to account for 35% of its sold machines by 2030. The company believes that immediate action is necessary to deliver a carbon-neutral construction industry.
As a subsidiary of the Volvo Group, Volvo CE is a Swedish multinational that focuses on the production, distribution, and sale of trucks, buses, and construction equipment. With the launch of its new electric machines in Singapore, the company is taking a significant step towards reducing its carbon footprint and achieving its sustainability goals.
