Tesla is on the verge of releasing Full Self-Driving (FSD) Beta version 11.3, with a select group of testers set to receive the update by the end of the week. The new release is part of Tesla’s ongoing effort to fine-tune its advanced driver assistance software, which has received intense scrutiny and criticism.

Elon Musk, Tesla’s CEO, has provided some details on the FSD Beta release, indicating that the company might release version 11.3.2 before the full release of the single stack in North America. The single stack software, which was rolled out in late 2022, uses a single software stack for both highways and inner-city streets.

Tesla’s FSD Beta program has grown significantly since its launch in November 2022, with the number of testers now numbering around 400,000 drivers from the United States and Canada. The company has plans to expand the program to Europe, but must first navigate the regulatory landscape and comply with EU regulations.

In a Q4 and Full Year 2022 Shareholder Deck, Tesla noted that 90% of the FSD’s current structure in North America can be applied to roads worldwide. However, the company faces a challenging road ahead in gaining approval for autonomous driving software in different parts of the world, as regulatory agencies and governments are still figuring out how to regulate and implement rules for this new technology.

Tesla’s approach to the release of its FSD Beta version 11.3 is a cautious one, with the company taking the time to iron out any issues before releasing it to a wider audience. This approach shows Tesla’s commitment to ensuring the safety and reliability of its advanced driver assistance software.
