Tesla readies revamped Model 3 with codenamed “Project Highland”

The Tesla Model 3 is reportedly undergoing a major overhaul by Tesla. The Model 3 transformation project is codenamed ”Project Highland” and will be released at the end of next year.

Tesla revealed, the main focus of this redesign is to reduce the number of components and complexity in the Model 3’s interior while focusing on the features that Tesla buyers value, including its appearance.

The overhaul of the EV sedan may also include some changes to the exterior performance and powertrain of the Model 3. The new Model 3 will begin production at Tesla’s Shanghai plant and the company’s Fremont, California factory in the third quarter of 2023.

There is little glimmer of hope regarding the appearance of the new Model 3 later. Rumors say the model is inspired by the Model S redesign released last year – without confirming whether it will have a yoke steering wheel, which is the biggest new feature of the redesign.

FYI, Model 3 itself is the most affordable from Tesla with a price tag of under $47,000. This car has been in the market for five years and was successful in the market because it became a best-seller before being overtaken by the Model Y crossover globally.
