Skoda Enyaq iV electric SUV will use Ventus S1 evo 3 ev tires from Hankook

The Enyaq iV electric SUV will use  Ventus S1 Evo3 ev tires from Hankook Tire in the first half of this year in the form of original equipment (OE) products, as quoted from Yonhap, Monday (21/11/2022).

Skoda is part of the Volkswagen group, and is the largest exporting company in the Czech Republic. Hankook itself has provided OE tire products for 320 types of vehicles from nearly 50 foreign car manufacturers, including Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Porsche.

Supplying OE tires to auto manufacturers does not generate much revenue for tire manufacturers, but securing large companies as clients simultaneously helps to enhance their brand image, and can lead to increased brand awareness and increased product prices down the road.

For tire manufacturers, it is more profitable to sell replacement kit tires on the aftermarket. Hankook Tire generates more than 80 percent of its total revenue overseas.

The company has eight factories, namely two in South Korea (ROK), one in Hungary, one in the United States (US), three in China and one in Indonesia, whose combined capacity reaches around 100 million tires per year.
