Jaguar Land Rover’s (JLR) commitment to developing electric vehicles is demonstrated by recruiting technology experts to help with electric vehicle projects.
Quoted from Reuters on Friday (18/11/2022), JLR has 800 job openings to assist the development of electric vehicles, mainly in areas of automated driving, electrification, machine learning and data science.
The automaker wants totality in selling electric cars by 2025. It believes workers leaving large technology groups like Amazon have the skills to fill new roles in various countries.
Chief Information Officer Anthony Battle revealed that more experts will be placed in England, which is the base of JLR.
âWe have been opening job vacancies there for a long time. Some capabilities are quite difficult to fill because the market is very competitive, especially software engineers and architects,â said Battle quoted by Reuters, Saturday (19/11/2022).
Battle is optimistic about getting experts to fill the posts needed at JLR. This vacancy was opened after massive layoffs at companies such as Twitter, Meta and Amazon, some of which have offices in London and Dublin.
According to him, the vacancy to design artificial intelligence and machine learning will support the company’s data collection to gain insight into car performance and customer behavior.
