The Hyundai Ioniq 6 First Edition, which was launched in a limited edition of around 2,500 units in Europe, sold out in less than 24 hours on November 9, 2022. The Hyundai Ioniq 6 is offered for pre-sale in Germany, UK, France, Norway and the Netherlands.
A total of 2,500 units of the Hyundai Ioniq 6 First Edition are available in Germany, and 1,000 units have been allocated to the UK, France, Norway and the Netherlands. One unit of the Hyundai Ioniq 6 costs 54,995 pounds in the UK and 66,400 Euros in Germany.
Hyundai says that customers who can secure the exclusive edition online will get their vehicle delivered between March and April 2023, while those who are unable to pre-order the Ioniq 6 First Edition will receive offers from dealers.
The unusually high interest and demand for the Ioniq 6 First Edition confirms Hyundai’s leadership in zero-emission car production. With an aerodynamic silhouette, long driving distance, and a luxurious interior, the Ioniq 6 changes the perception of electric cars.
“We are confident that European customers will soon be interested in our Electrified Streamliner,” said Ulrich Mechau, Vice President of Sales & Service at Hyundai Motor Europe.
For its price, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 First Edition features a top-of-the-range powertrain, a dual-motor all-wheel drive (AWD) system, which combines with a 77.4-kWh battery to go even further. The powertrain provides 239 kilowatts (320 horsepower) and 605 Newton-meters (446 pound-feet) of torque to all four wheels.
While the battery allows the WLTP combined mileage of up to 519 kilometers. The First Edition benefits from the E-GMP platform’s 800 volt charging system which gives it 350kW ultra fast charger compatibility and includes a battery heating system for optimized charge times under all conditions.
The Ioniq 6 First Edition also features various exclusive exterior and interior design elements inspired by the Hyundai Prophecy EV concept. Exterior tweaks include an eye-catching matte black finish on the 20-inch wheels, glossy black mirror caps and moldings, black aluminum ‘H’ badging on the front bumper and rear tailgate underlining.
There are four color choices, namely Biophilic Blue Pearl, Serenity White Pearl, Nocturne Gray Metallic and Gravity Gold Matte. The rest of the Hyundai Ioniq 6 lineup will go on sale in Europe in late 2022, with deliveries expected to start in spring 2023.
