Esposizione Internazionale Ciclo Motociclo e Accessori (EICMA) 2022 is widely used by automotive manufacturers in the two-wheel segment as a venue for launching their latest products, including MV Agusta which released the Ampelio electric scooter.
âThis is different from MV Agusta’s habit of presenting a lot of sports motorbikes. This time, the motorbike presented by a company from Italy looks a bit calmer and is very friendly to everyone.
MV Agusta designer Maksim Ponomarev takes inspiration from mid-century CGT and Ovunque. He also mentioned that this design looks fresher and faithful to MV Agusta’s rich past.
RideApart reported on Friday that the partnership with Kymco appears to provide the basis for the development of Ampelioâthe S7 concept that Kymco unveiled at EICMA 2021.
Even so, there is no further information about this vehicle. Still, EICMA goers can predict what’s coming for the S7 and make some guesses.
MV Agusta states that what really caught his eye on the S7 were the concept’s “adult” dimensions in terms of dimensions not made for kids and the use of a replaceable Ionex 1.7 kWh battery.
The use of the Ionex 1.7 battery is rumored to produce 4.1 kWh of power and a possible range of more than 85 miles (about 137 km) with both batteries fully charged.
The S7 weighs about 267 pounds and has a low center of gravity thanks to the battery mount under the seat. In addition, the Ampelio will likely have at least two driving modes, electric steering lock, keyless, LED lights and ABS.
Even so, there are still many who question whether Ampelio will enter production or what the final price will be. Still, it’s a very good display and a good way for MV Agusta to get in the EV door with some proven battery technology and an experienced partner.
