Mercedes-Benz and Apple on Sunday (16/10) announced the Apple Music streaming service with spatial audio, now integrated directly with the first MBUX infotainment system in the Mercedes‑Maybach S‑Class, SUV EQS and EQS, as well as EQE, SUV EQE and S class.
Quoted from 9to5mac, Monday (17/10/2022) users can enjoy this feature if their car is equipped with a 31-speaker Burmester 3D or 4D sound system using an additional fee at the time of purchase of 4,550 US dollars or 6,730 US dollars, respectively.
Apple Music with spatial audio will provide drivers with “studio-quality sound better than in any concert hall” and “a fully immersive listening experience with unmatched multidimensional sound and clarity.”
“Sound quality is very important to Apple Music, which is why we are excited to be working with Mercedes to make Spatial Audio in Apple Music available natively in the car for the first time,” said Oliver Schusser, vice president of Apple Music and Beats.
“With Mercedes, we now have even more opportunities to bring fully immersive music to our customers around the world.”
With the launch of this feature in Mercedes-Benz cars, it also marks the first time that Apple Music’s spatial audio feature has been extended to the car’s infotainment system.
