Volta Trucks and Siemens Smart Infrastructure have officially synergized to facilitate electrification fleet operators by integrating vehicles, charging infrastructure and sustainable energy management.
Marked by the signing of a letter of intent, this partnership represents one of Volta Trucks’ unique approaches to electrification of its commercial fleet and operational expertise through Trucks as a Service.
According to Volta Trucks CEO, Essa Al-Saleh, to deliver rapid electrification of urban logistics, of course, will require an operationally efficient electrification infrastructure that is aligned with the exact needs of each fleet.

Meanwhile, in this collaboration, Siemens will oversee the technical infrastructure, including the hardware and software required to operate the charging and power distribution infrastructure for the Volta Zero fleet.
In addition, Siemens will also facilitate the Swedish electric truck manufacturer with sustainable energy management, facilities and infrastructure such as buildings, financing, to charging infrastructure and software control systems.

Internally partners will also work to optimize operations with advanced analytical and simulation models that take into account factors such as fleet duty cycle, charge time, battery life, optimal energy utilization and costs.
Both companies claim that the optimized charging infrastructure will be highly cost-effective, not only at the point of installation but also the charging algorithms that allow fleets to manage energy costs without compromising routing and service requirements.
Starting in 2025, Volta Trucks has targeted sales of more than 27,000 vehicles annually. Until now, the manufacturer has expanded in the largest automotive markets such as the United States (US) and Europe.
