Last April, Wiesmann officially introduced Project Thunderball to the automotive world for the first time. Today they announced that interested customers can register for the electric roadster on the wiesmann.com website.
“Project Thunderball is the car that will bring Wiesmann into the new electrified era,” said Roheen Berry, the CEO of Wiesmann. “Since revealing the car in April we have seen an overwhelming response from potential customers.”
The car is made of carbon fiber and weighs just a little over 1,700 kg (3,747 lbs). The electric roadster comes with two rear-mounted motors that produce a combined 671 hp (500 kW/680 PS) and 1,100 Nm (811 lb-ft) of torque.
This gives it a weight-to-power ratio of 2.5 kg/PS, and allows it to accelerate from 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.9 seconds. This impressive capability comes thanks to the 800V battery technology.
The technology will help recharge the 92 kWh (83 kWh gross) battery at speeds of up to 300 kW on DC fast chargers. This electric roadster promises a range of 311 miles (500 km) on the WLTP cycle.

Production of Project Thunderball will begin in 2024, with registered customers being the first in line. Production of Project Thunderball will take place at Wiesmann’s “Gecko” plant in Dülmen, Germany.
Wiesmann said it would only build 1,000 units of the electric roadster with prices starting at €300,000 ($288,304 USD at current exchange rates).
