A few days after the celebration of World EV Day, Nissan announced that it will start production of its commercial electric van, the 100% new Nissan Townstar in Europe.
Representing Nissan’s ambitions for 2030, market availability of the all-new Townstar EV marks the latest milestone in the company’s efforts to contribute to its carbon neutrality goal by 2050.
The Townstar EV builds on the success of the e-NV200. Derived from the expertise of Nissan’s Electric Light Commercial Vehicle (e-LCV), designed with capability, reliability and sustainability in mind, business owners in mind.

“To coincide with World EV Day, the start of our all-new Townstar EV production is designed to meet the needs of our customers and the growing demand for sustainable powertrain solutions,” said Emmanuelle Serazin, LCV & Corporate Sales Director, Nissan Europe.
The all-new Townstar EV is planned to be produced at the Alliance center of excellence for small vans in Maubeuge, France, with an optimized powertrain display with intelligent energy management and battery thermal cooling.
The company also claims that the Townstar EV is capable of a superior range of up to 300 km (WLTP cycle). With a 45 kWh battery the Townstar EV can accept either AC (11 kW or 22 kW) or DC fast charging (CCS format).
The Nissan Townstar EV is equipped with a 45 kWh (liquid-cooled) battery and a WLTP range of up to 300 km (186 miles).
The van has an 11 kW or 22 kW three-phase onboard charger, as well as a CCS2 charging inlet for fast charging up to 80 kW, allowing users to charge the battery from 15% to 80% in just 37 minutes.
