Changan Mazda, the Chinese joint venture between Changan and Mazda, has launched the 2027 EZ-60, adding four LiDAR-equipped variants to its mid-size new energy SUV lineup.
The updated model is available in nine variants, with limited-time prices ranging from 113,900 yuan ($16,880) to 166,900 yuan. Official guide prices range from 119,900 yuan to 172,900 yuan, with each variant receiving a 6,000-yuan limited-time discount.
LiDAR Expands Driver Assistance Features
The EZ-60’s official starting price remains unchanged from the first-generation model launched on September 26, 2025. However, the addition of four LiDAR variants raises the highest official price from 160,900 yuan to 172,900 yuan.
The new LiDAR-equipped versions cost 12,000 yuan more than their corresponding standard variants. The EREV Pro LiDAR starts at 151,900 yuan, while the BEV Max LiDAR is priced at 172,900 yuan and sits at the top of the range.
Each LiDAR variant uses a roof-mounted Hesai ATX LiDAR sensor with a maximum detection range of 200 meters. The sensor works alongside three millimeter-wave radars, 11 high-definition cameras and 12 ultrasonic radars, providing a forward detection range of more than 250 meters.
The driver assistance system uses an end-to-end architecture. Changan Mazda said it supports highway navigation assistance at speeds of up to 130 km/h and urban navigation assistance at up to 80 km/h.
The parking system can identify more than 300 types of parking spaces. Additional functions, including memory parking, are planned to be introduced through future over-the-air software updates. The vehicle also offers 25 active safety functions.
Dimensions and Powertrain Carry Over
The 2027 EZ-60 retains the dimensions of the first-generation model, measuring 4,850 mm long, 1,935 mm wide and 1,620 mm high, with a wheelbase of 2,902 mm.
Changan Mazda has also introduced purchase incentives covering trade-in subsidies, configuration upgrades and financing benefits.
Outside the new LiDAR variants, changes to the remaining versions are primarily limited to equipment and pricing. The available powertrains remain largely unchanged.
The EREV versions use a 1.5-liter range extender producing up to 70 kW. A rear-mounted drive motor delivers 190 kW (255 hp) of peak power and 290 Nm of peak torque, while a 31.73-kWh battery provides a CLTC pure-electric range of 200 km.
The BEV versions use a 77.94-kWh lithium iron phosphate battery and a single rear-mounted motor producing 190 kW. The configuration provides a CLTC range of 600 km.
EZ-60 Targets China’s Joint-Venture NEV Market
Changan Mazda is positioning the updated EZ-60 against mid-size new energy SUVs from other joint-venture automakers in China, including the Buick Electra E7 and Nissan NX8.
Advanced driver assistance systems have generally been introduced more cautiously by joint-venture new energy vehicle brands in China, with LiDAR not typically offered as standard equipment. The addition of LiDAR variants gives the EZ-60 expanded sensor hardware and driver assistance capabilities within the lineup.
The EZ-60 is Changan Mazda’s first new energy SUV and is also a strategic model developed by Mazda for global markets.
Its international version, the Mazda CX-6e, debuted at the Brussels Motor Show in January and has subsequently entered markets including Europe.
