Xiaomi has launched international social media accounts and a dedicated global website for its automotive business as it prepares for an overseas expansion planned to begin in Europe in 2027. The new Xiaomi Auto channels provide the company with an international platform for promoting its electric vehicle business and developing relationships with potential dealers and distribution partners.
The international website, xiaomiauto.com, went live on Wednesday and prominently states that Xiaomi Auto is “Officially coming to Europe in 2027.”
Europe to Lead Xiaomi Auto Expansion
The website confirms Europe as the first destination for Xiaomi’s international automotive expansion, although the company has not yet identified the first countries where its vehicles will be sold.
Local pricing and a specific launch date have also not been announced.
Xiaomi president William Lu said in May that the company planned to formally begin its overseas automotive expansion in the third or fourth quarter of 2027, with preparations progressing according to schedule.
The company plans to enter developed markets first before expanding into developing economies. Its strategy also calls for targeting higher-end segments initially before moving toward the midrange market.
Xiaomi Showcases Electric Vehicle Portfolio
The new website features several Xiaomi automotive projects, including the Xiaomi SU7, Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, Xiaomi YU7 GT, Xiaomi Sky Nomad and Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo.
However, the appearance of these models on the international website does not confirm that they will all be part of Xiaomi Auto’s initial European export lineup.

The website currently serves primarily as a brand and technology platform. It does not yet include a vehicle configurator, local pricing or an online purchasing function, indicating that Xiaomi remains in the preparation phase ahead of its overseas sales launch.
International Sales and Dealer Network Preparation
Xiaomi Auto has also added a Dealer and Distribution Inquiries section to the website, providing a channel for potential retail and distribution partners.
The company is developing its international sales infrastructure alongside its overseas brand presence. William Lu previously said that entering foreign automotive markets requires preparation covering legal and regulatory compliance, product localization, sales channels and retail networks.
Xiaomi’s automotive business is therefore developing its international operations ahead of the planned 2027 market entry rather than beginning vehicle sales immediately.
Xiaomi Establishes European R&D Presence
The international website lists Munich among Xiaomi Auto’s global research and development locations, alongside Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing and Wuhan.

The inclusion of Munich indicates that Xiaomi has established an R&D presence in Europe as part of its preparations for international automotive operations.
In May, Xiaomi also appointed auto division Vice President Yu Liguo to lead the group responsible for preparing the company’s overseas automotive business. Yu reports to Xiaomi Group CEO Lei Jun and William Lu.
The company is using Xiaomi Auto as the English name for its automotive business across the new international website and social media channels.
The global launch marks an early step in Xiaomi’s planned transition from a China-focused electric vehicle business to an international automotive brand, with Europe targeted as its first overseas market in 2027.
