Italian sports car manufacturer Ferrari has officially unveiled the Luce, the company’s first fully electric vehicle, marking a major shift for the automaker as it enters the battery-electric era with a high-performance four-seat model.
The Luce is scheduled to arrive in North America in the second quarter of 2027 with a starting price of about $640,000.
Ferrari said the electric vehicle combines supercar-level performance with increased practicality, featuring four seats, a rear hatch design and the largest cargo capacity ever offered in a Ferrari production model.

The Luce produces a combined 1,050 horsepower through four electric motors, with one motor mounted at each wheel. Ferrari said the configuration enables acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in 2.4 seconds.
According to the company, the front electric motors can reach rotational speeds of up to 30,000 rpm, while the rear motors can operate at up to 25,500 rpm.
The vehicle is powered by a 122-kWh battery pack paired with an 800-volt electrical architecture capable of charging at speeds of up to 350 kW.

Ferrari estimates the Luce will deliver around 280 miles of driving range under U.S. EPA testing standards, while European WLTP estimates place the range closer to 330 miles.
Unlike some electric vehicle manufacturers that emphasize near-silent driving experiences, Ferrari said the Luce incorporates an electronically enhanced sound system designed to preserve an emotional driving character.
The system uses accelerometers mounted to the electric motors and chassis to capture vibration frequencies, which are then processed through software to filter unwanted noise while amplifying selected sounds inside and outside the vehicle.

Drivers can also adjust torque delivery characteristics through a steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifter with five selectable response modes.
The interior was designed by Jony Ive, former chief design officer at Apple. Ferrari said the cabin combines OLED digital displays with physical controls to maintain a driver-focused experience.
The Luce measures nearly 198 inches in length, similar to a Tesla Model S, and offers more than 21 cubic feet of cargo space.
The vehicle’s styling has already generated mixed reactions among automotive enthusiasts and Ferrari customers, with some criticism focused on the model’s rounded proportions and departure from Ferrari’s traditional supercar design language.

Ferrari has not commented publicly on reactions to the design, but the Luce represents a significant step in the company’s transition toward electrification while maintaining its focus on performance and luxury positioning.
