Opel has introduced vehicle-to-load functionality across its electric passenger car lineup, allowing drivers to power external devices directly from their vehicle batteries.
The feature is now standard on the Astra Electric, Astra Sports Tourer Electric, Grandland Electric, Mokka Electric, Corsa Electric and Combo Electric, Opel said.
Using a dedicated adapter connected to the charging port, the vehicles can provide up to 3.6 kilowatts of output for external devices such as tools, appliances or electric bikes.
Opel said the Astra Electric, Astra Sports Tourer Electric, Grandland Electric and Combo Electric come standard with an 11-kW three-phase bidirectional onboard charger.
The Mokka Electric and 115-kW version of the Corsa Electric include a 7.4-kW single-phase bidirectional charger as standard, while an 11-kW three-phase charger is available as an option for 700 euros ($814). The Mokka GSE includes the 11-kW charger as standard.
Separately, Opel updated the Astra Electric with a 58-kWh battery pack, including 55 kWh usable capacity, increasing WLTP range to up to 454 kilometers.
That represents an increase of about 35 kilometers over the previous version, according to the company.
Opel is also offering an “Electric All In” package for private buyers in Germany who purchase a battery-electric model before June 30, 2026.
The package includes a home wallbox, e-routing functions, roadside assistance and battery warranty coverage, Opel said.
