Rimac Technology has appointed Nurdin Pitarević as its new chief executive, succeeding founder Mate Rimac, who will remain President of Rimac Group and focus more closely on the Bugatti Rimac business.
The leadership change marks an internal promotion, with Pitarević stepping up from his role as chief operating officer. His deputy, Marko Brkljačić, will assume the COO position.
Rimac said the transition follows a record year in which the company delivered tens of thousands of battery and powertrain systems to global automotive manufacturers, reflecting its growing role as a Tier 1 supplier.
Mate Rimac said Pitarević has demonstrated strong leadership and operational expertise, adding that he has full confidence in his ability to guide the company through its next phase of development.
Pitarević joined Rimac from a major European automotive supplier and has overseen a period of rapid industrialisation and scaling. Under his leadership, the company transitioned multiple programs into series production and expanded its global delivery footprint.
In his new role, Pitarević will be responsible for executing Rimac Technology’s strategic roadmap through 2030, which focuses on advanced electrification technologies, digitalised operations and sustainable industrial growth.
The roadmap also includes collaboration on next-generation battery technologies, including solid-state cells, as well as expansion of manufacturing capacity.
The company recently showcased its technological direction at IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich, presenting developments in battery systems, e-axles and control technologies.
The leadership reshuffle reflects Rimac’s continued evolution from a niche performance EV innovator into a broader supplier of advanced electrification systems for the global automotive industry.
