RoboSense reported its first-ever quarterly profit, reflecting strong demand for LiDAR sensors across robotics and electric vehicle applications.
The Shenzhen-based company recorded a net profit of 103.7 million yuan ($15 million) in the fourth quarter of 2025, compared with a net loss of 131.1 million yuan in the same period a year earlier, according to its earnings report.
Fourth-quarter revenue rose 46.1% year-on-year to 750.7 million yuan, while gross margin improved to 28.5%, up 6.4 percentage points, supported by a more optimized product mix.
The result follows a similar milestone by domestic rival Hesai, which recently reported its first full-year profit for 2025, underscoring broader momentum in the LiDAR sector.
RoboSense’s return to profitability was largely driven by rapid expansion in its robotics business. LiDAR shipments for robotics surged 2,565.1% year-on-year in the fourth quarter to 221,200 units, approaching the 238,400 units shipped for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) during the same period.
Revenue from the robotics segment reached 346.7 million yuan in the quarter, accounting for nearly half of total revenue.
For the full year, RoboSense narrowed its net loss to 145 million yuan as revenue increased 17.7% to 1.94 billion yuan. Total LiDAR shipments rose 67.6% to 912,000 units.
While Hesai led in overall shipment volume, RoboSense said it ranked first in the robotics segment, delivering 303,000 robotics LiDAR units in 2025, more than eleven times higher than the previous year and exceeding Hesai’s reported shipments in that category.
To support future growth, RoboSense has established annual production capacity of up to 4 million units, aiming to meet rising global demand.
The company expects its ADAS and robotics businesses to achieve a more balanced contribution to revenue in 2026, alongside continued strong growth.
