Chery Group’s new energy vehicle brand iCAUR will hold the global launch of its V27 mid-to-large hybrid sport utility vehicle in Dubai on Feb. 8, marking the brand’s official entry into the Middle East market, the company said.
The iCAUR V27 is built around a range-extended electric vehicle (REEV) powertrain designed to deliver more than 150 kilometres of pure electric driving and a combined range exceeding 1,000 kilometres. The model is positioned to cover urban commuting as well as long-distance travel, Chery said, as competition intensifies among automakers offering electrified SUVs in global markets.

The V27 measures more than five metres in length and rides on a 2,900-mm wheelbase, supporting a five-seat interior configuration. The exterior features a boxy profile with round headlights, while the interior adopts what iCAUR describes as a “Stellar Cockpit” design, including a dual panoramic sunroof and a floating ceiling treatment branded as the “Star Island.”

Powering the vehicle is iCAUR’s Golden REEV system, which combines battery-electric driving with a range-extending combustion engine. The company said the architecture is intended to reduce range anxiety while retaining the efficiency advantages of electric propulsion.

Ahead of the global debut, iCAUR said it carried out extensive validation work, deploying more than 1,000 test vehicles across over 50 test programmes and logging more than one million kilometres of durability testing. The trials covered extreme heat and cold conditions as well as complex road surfaces, exceeding standard industry validation requirements, according to the company.

The V27 also includes 39 pre-installed “ecosystem ports,” enabling owners to add accessories and customised equipment. In addition, iCAUR said its AiMOGA robots will be displayed alongside the V27 in showrooms as part of the brand’s broader technology ecosystem.
