MG Motor UK has expanded its electric hatchback offering with the launch of the MG4 EV Urban and a refreshed 2026 MG4 EV range, broadening its line-up to six trim levels as it targets a wider spectrum of buyers in the UK market.
The new MG4 EV Urban starts at £23,495, positioning it among the most affordable battery-electric hatchbacks on sale in the UK. Alongside the new entry-level variant, MG has introduced updates across the 2026 MG4 EV range, including interior technology improvements, revised pricing and an extended-range option offering up to 338 miles on the WLTP combined cycle.

The MG4 EV Urban is offered in three trims aimed at lowering the barrier to EV ownership. Prices start at £23,495 for the Comfort Standard Range, rising to £25,495 for the Comfort Long Range and £27,995 for the Premium Long Range. MG described the Urban as a family-sized model with class-leading interior space, though it has not disclosed battery capacities or official range figures for these variants.
For 2026, the MG4 EV receives updates to cabin technology and perceived interior quality, while pricing has been adjusted downward. The Premium Long Range model now starts at £29,995, a reduction of £2,750 compared with the outgoing version. A new Premium Extended Range variant is priced at £32,995 and delivers a claimed 338 miles of range, one of the longest figures available at its price point in the UK, according to the company. The performance-focused XPOWER model remains unchanged at £33,995, offering a dual-motor setup producing 320 kW.

Since its launch in 2022, the MG4 EV has recorded close to 50,000 sales in the UK and collected around 50 awards and recommendations from local automotive media, MG said.
“The MG4 EV has played a major role in making electric vehicle ownership accessible to a much broader group of customers, without compromising on driving enjoyment or distinctive design,” said David Allison, director of product and planning at MG Motor UK.
Both the MG4 EV Urban and the updated MG4 EV models are covered by MG’s seven-year or 80,000-mile warranty. The brand said aftersales support is provided through its UK dealer network, which forms part of MG’s wider European presence spanning around 1,300 dealers across 34 countries.
