The third-generation 2026 Nissan LEAF has received recognition in two categories at the 2026 Kelley Blue Book Best Buy Awards, earning titles as Best New Model and Best Electric Vehicle Under $35,000, adding to a growing list of industry accolades since its debut.
Editors at Kelley Blue Book cited the LEAF ’s combination of updated design, extended driving range, fast-charging compatibility and pricing as key reasons for the awards. “The latest LEAF stands out by pairing meaningful range improvements and modern technology with an accessible price point that remains competitive in the current EV market,” Kelley Blue Book editors said in their assessment.

The 2026 LEAF starts at a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $29,990 for the S+ grade, positioning it below the launch price of the original 2011 model. The vehicle is equipped with a 75 kilowatt-hour battery, delivering an EPA-estimated range of up to 303 miles on a combined city and highway cycle. It also features a built-in North American Charging Standard (NACS) port with Plug & Charge capability, providing access to more than 27,500 Tesla Superchargers across the United States.
Kelley Blue Book’s Best Buy Awards, now in their 12th year, evaluate vehicles across segments based on factors including comfort, cargo capacity, features, infotainment, build quality, driving dynamics, pricing data and projected ownership costs. The LEAF ’s interior technology package includes dual 14.3-inch displays with Google Built-in, available panoramic roof options, and standard driver-assistance features.
