Porsche Cars Canada said it has enabled Plug & Charge functionality on the Tesla Supercharger network for the Macan Electric and model year 2026 Taycan, expanding automated charging access for Porsche electric vehicle customers across North America.
The integration provides eligible vehicles with access to more than 27,500 Tesla Superchargers through the Porsche Charging Service. Porsche said the upcoming Cayenne Electric will also support Plug & Charge when it launches in Canada later this year.
Plug & Charge technology allows compatible vehicles to authenticate and process payment automatically when connected to a supported charger, removing the need for mobile apps or manual payment steps. Porsche said the system uses encrypted communication to handle billing securely for active Charging Service members.
In addition to the Tesla Supercharger network, Plug & Charge is also supported at Electrify Canada stations. Porsche said Taycan and Macan Electric owners receive complimentary NACS-to-CCS DC adapters to enable compatibility with Tesla charging infrastructure.
“This marks significant progress with regards to convenience for our EV customers,” said Trevor Arthur, adding that wider Plug & Charge availability simplifies the charging process and supports a more seamless ownership experience.
Porsche has been expanding charging-related software features for its electric models over the past year, as automakers increasingly integrate access to multiple charging networks to address customer concerns around convenience and interoperability.
