Chinese electric vehicle maker Xpeng said it will launch updated versions of its P7+ sedan and an extended-range version of its G7 sport utility vehicle in the coming days, marking the start of its 2026 product rollout.
The company said the refreshed P7+ and the extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) variant of the G7 will be unveiled in China on Jan. 8 and in Europe on Jan. 9. The China launch event will take place in Guangzhou, where Xpeng is headquartered, while the European debut will be held in Brussels, Belgium.

Both models are currently sold only as battery electric vehicles, but Xpeng is expanding its lineup to include EREV options as part of its dual-powertrain strategy. That approach follows the launch of an extended-range version of its X9 multi-purpose vehicle in November, as the company seeks to appeal to customers concerned about driving range.
The updated P7+ and the G7 EREV will be built on an 800-volt high-voltage platform and will use Xpeng’s Kunpeng Super Electric System, which combines a large battery with a fuel tank to extend total driving range. Xpeng began teasing the updated P7+ late last year, confirming it would continue to offer both BEV and EREV configurations.

The G7, introduced in mid-2025, is Xpeng’s first model to feature its in-house developed Turing AI chip, with computing power of up to 2,250 trillion operations per second. The company has said the extended-range version will be capable of delivering more than 1,700 kilometers of combined range with a full battery and fuel tank, while offering rapid charging for short stops.
Earlier this month, Xpeng said it had shipped more than 1,000 units of the 2026 model-year P7+ and G7 EREV vehicles to retail outlets across China in preparation for the market launch, underscoring its push to accelerate new product introductions amid intensifying competition in the domestic and overseas EV markets.
