Nio said it is set to roll out its one-millionth vehicle next week, a symbolic milestone for the 11-year-old electric vehicle manufacturer as it reports record deliveries and outlines plans for further expansion at home and abroad.
“In just a few days, we will celebrate the rollout of our one-millionth mass-produced vehicle,” said William Li, founder, chairman and chief executive of Nio, in an internal letter to employees welcoming 2026. “User support has always been our driving force and confidence in winning the competition,” Li said, adding that the company would continue to focus on improving products, services and operational performance.

Company data showed Nio delivered a record 48,135 vehicles in December, lifting full-year 2025 deliveries to 326,028 units, an increase of 46.88% from a year earlier. Cumulative deliveries since inception reached 997,592 vehicles by the end of December, placing the company within reach of the one-million mark.
Li said China’s new energy vehicle (NEV) penetration rate is expected to exceed 90% by 2030, with battery electric vehicles (BEVs) accounting for more than 80% of NEV sales. He noted that in the first 11 months of 2025, BEVs represented 61.9% of China’s NEV sales, growing faster than extended-range electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids.

“Our 12 full-stack technological advancements, along with competitive advantages in charging and battery swapping, will gain increasing recognition from users,” Li said. Nio plans to accelerate infrastructure investment, beginning large-scale deployment of its fifth-generation battery swap stations in the second quarter of 2026.
The company aims to add more than 1,000 battery swap stations next year, bringing the total to over 4,600 by the end of 2026, Li said. He added that Nio would continue enhancing the commercial operation of its charging and battery swap networks to support long-term profitability.
